New Mexico man killed in single car crash

A 24-year-old man was killed recently in a car crash on Tumbleweed Road in Eddy County.

According to the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to the early morning accident and found Vasquez behind the wheel. He was later pronounced dead.

According to investigators, it’s apparent the victim may have been speeding before the accident. It also appears he wasn’t properly wearing a seatbelt. Weather conditions may also have played a role.

There’s no indication alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.

Exercise your rights

Recovering from a serious car crash is challenging. In addition to debilitating physical injuries, you may also be battling medical debt, wage loss, and mental trauma.

It takes time to get back on your feet no matter the circumstances. But victims should know that they have rights. New Mexico law creates a cause of action for those injured because of another party’s negligence or wrongdoing.

With the help of an experienced car accident attorney, they can file a lawsuit against those responsible. They understand the nuances of the law and can launch an investigation to uncover the truth of what happened. A successful lawsuit may result in an award of damages, relief the victim, and their family, may desperately need.

Additionally, attorneys can manage settlement negotiations with the other party. They can also negotiate with insurance companies to achieve a higher payout for their client.

Victims should take action as soon as possible. New Mexico imposes a three-year statute of limitations on personal injury lawsuits. Waiting too long could mean permanently forfeiting the right to legal recourse.
