Tragic accident causes death of teen

On behalf of Berenson & Associates, PC | May 29, 2020 | Auto Accident, Car Accidents, Wrongful Death

Most Albuquerque area drivers will be in at least one car accident during their driving career. Luckily, most of these accidents are just minor fender benders. But occasionally a serious accident occurs in which a person suffers severe injuries.

A recent tragic accident took the life of a teen from Mexican Springs. The teen was headed to Gallup on US 491 with her brother and sister when a driver heading the opposite way crossed over and hit the car that the teen was riding in. The driver who hit the car with the siblings has now been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving.

No one expects that their beloved child will be killed in a tragic car accident. This unexpected experience is horrific for parents, grandparents, siblings and other family members. If the accident was due to another person’s negligence a family may want to speak with a legal professional who specializes in personal injury. An attorney can visit the accident scene, interview witnesses and review the police report in order to get answers as to what happened. They are ready to aggressively fight for their client and make sure they receive the justice they deserve. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, funeral expenses, pain and suffering and other damages.

The death of a child is something no parents should ever have to go through, especially if the death was caused by someone else’s negligence. A family has the legal right to hold the driver responsible for their negligence. Although nothing can bring back the loss of a loved one, compensation can help a family move on.
